This is test posting--not a real recruitment
The Department of Health Policy and Management in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health is seeking applicants for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position in Implementation and Improvement Science at any rank. The department is looking for experienced researchers who focus on implementing system delivery changes in clinical or population health. Researchers focused on real world practical applications, research embedded in healthcare systems, implementation and improvement, and learning health systems are encouraged to apply. Focus areas include implementation science, improvement science, delivery system science, learning health systems, embedded research in systems, quality improvement, healthcare systems science, and systems transformation and redesign.
This top-rated Department is a leader in health policy and management research and education. The Department has a highly collaborative environment with multiple research centers and collaborations that transcend departments and schools, providing easy ways to collaborate across the university; cutting-edge translational and implementation-oriented training programs; extensive infrastructure supporting translational science; and close relationships with academic medical centers, large public and commercial healthcare delivery systems and networks, and regional public health and human service systems, which provide a long-standing tradition and rich environment for improvement and implementation research.
Applicants must have a strong record or demonstrate potential to establish a strong record of peer-reviewed publications, as well as a strong record or demonstrated potential for securing extramural funding.
Responsibilities: The new faculty member will conduct research and teach courses in one or more areas including but not limited to implementation science, improvement science, quality improvement, health systems science, and related areas.
Qualifications: Qualifications include a strong record of research and teaching, commensurate with the rank of appointment sought, and an earned doctorate in health services research, health policy, psychology, education, organizational behavior, anthropology, or other relevant discipline at the time of appointment.
Salary: The posted UC Salary Scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. The salary range for this position is $78,200-$205,400, negotiable based on experience. This position is a 9-month, hard money, and tenure-track/tenured. Salaries must be approved by the Chancellor. Based on experience, it is expected that this base amount will be supplemented up to additional 70% off-scale rate, equal to a maximum off-scale range of $121,200 to $349,200. This salary does not include other components of pay raised through extramural funds, which would yield compensation that is higher than this range.
How to apply: Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of research, statement of teaching, teaching evaluations (if applicable), Reference check authorization release form, and names of three references to the Chair, Faculty Search Committee. All applications should be submitted electronically to UCLA Academic Recruit Portal.
For more information, please contact Maria Porras atmporras@ph.ucla.edu.
Review of applications will begin on October 25, 2024, and will continue until the position is filled. For full consideration, applications should be completed by January 2, 2025.
Earlier applications are strongly encouraged. All applications will be kept strictly confidential. Faculty appointment level and salary will be determined based on the candidates’ experience and qualifications.
We value candidates whose experience in teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence. Women and underrepresented minorities are encouraged to apply.
The University of California is committed to creating and maintaining a community dedicated to the advancement, application, and transmission of knowledge and creative endeavors through academic excellence, where all individuals who participate in University programs and activities can work and learn together in a safe and secure environment, free of violence, harassment, bullying and other demeaning behavior, discrimination, exploitation, or intimidation. With this commitment as well as a commitment to addressing all forms of academic misconduct, UCLA conducts targeted employment reference checks for finalists to whom departments or other hiring units would like to extend formal offers of appointment into Academic Senate faculty positions. The targeted employment reference checks involve contacting the finalists’ current and prior places of employment to ask whether there have been substantiated findings of misconduct that would violate the University’s Faculty Code of Conduct. To implement this process, UCLA requires all applicants for Academic Senate faculty positions to complete, sign, and upload the form entitled “Authorization to Release Information” into RECRUIT as part of their application. If the applicant does not include the signed authorization to release information with the application materials, the application will be considered incomplete. As with any incomplete application, the application will not receive further consideration. Although all applicants for faculty recruitments must complete the entire application, only finalists (i.e., those to whom the department or other hiring unit would like to extend a formal offer) considered for Academic Senate faculty positions will be subject to targeted employment reference checks.
